HTC has confirmed that Android's "Cupcake" update will be released on the G1 in a future OTA (over the air) update. There is no firm date on the release, but it is coming. The Android "Cupcake" release will feature a virtual onscreen keyboard, along with other features. Stay tuned.

The T-Mobile G1 doesn't have auto rotate built-in, but it looks as if a developer has uncovered a method to add this to the G1.  With the new G1 Tweak Tools, you too can have rotate goodness on the G1.

The T-Mobile G1 doesn't support flash yet. The key word here is 'yet'. At Adobe's MAX event, Andy Rubin helped demo flash running on the G1. There has been an ongoing battle of sorts between Apple and Adobe over flash for the iPhone. To date, Apple or should I say Steve Jobs will not allow Flash on the iPhone. Here's where the open-source goodness of Android and the G1 pound their collective chests. UPDATE: Video demo after the break.

PhoneFusion has announced they will be bringing visual voicemail to the T-Mobile G1 with their new application Fusion Voicemail Plus.

T-Mobile G1 Review

The T-Mobile G1 represents the first ever device that is powered by Google's Android operating system. Priced at $179.99, it combines a touch screen, hard buttons ,slide-out QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera and WiFi. So, how does the world's first Google phone stack up? I've spent the last few weeks testing the G1, so I'd be able to offer a comprehensive look at T-Mobile's G1 and for that matter the Android OS. Let's get started.

It's not secret that the T-Mobile G1 will come in white, but what about the release date? At launch, the G1 was available in bronze or black. It appears that T-Mobile 'might' release the white G1 on Black Friday, as they make a final push for holiday sales. The white G1 has shown up in T-Mobile's Streamline database.

Seems like all the hype surrounding the launch of the T-Mobile G1 has Verizon concerned about losing customers. The company has put together a document for their sales staff that presents a list of why "T-Mobile's G1 Device Doesn't Live Up To The Hype".

Objections include:

Ever wonder what's inside your T-Mobile G1. Thankfully, you won't have to tear apart your Android handset thanks to the folks at TechOn. They have broken apart the G1 for all to see. Those who jump from the BlackBerry to the G1 will rejoice as the trackball is the same used by RIM.

The T-Mobile G1 went on sale yesterday in the UK. At launch, there were over 50 applications available in the Android Market. The G1  will be available exclusively from T-Mobile. Contracts starting from around £30 per month. The £40 per month option comes with included web'n'walk, their unlimited mobile internet plan, which normally retails for £7.50.

It's been just over a week since the T-Mobile G1 has been launched and there is already data on what G1 owners are downloading from the Android Market. At launch, the Android Market had 62 apps. Topping the list of downloads and making the list of the most popular apps were:
