Looks like someone jumped the gun over at T-Mobile, with the G1 find it's way to the my.t-mobile.com customer portal. This could be further evidence that the Dream will actually be called the G1. 'G' being short for Google phone and also allowing for more G phones down the line.
Not sure where this photo originates, but it is believed to be the first spotting of the HTC G1 (aka Dream) in the wild. T-Mobile is expected to make the G1 official on Tuesday ushering in the first of many gPhones. Stay tuned to everything gPhone for full Android coverage. Rumored SKU listings have cropped up showing the forthcoming T-Mobile G1 or HTC Dream coming in three colors. According the leak, it will come in brown, black and white. We've seen the white in spy shots, so this certainly sounds plausible and TmoNews has been known to get good intel.

People have been buzzing over the release of Google's new web browser Chrome, but it's currently available for Vista and Windows XP desktops. No surprise here, but there is word that you can expect Google to release Chrome for an upcoming Android release. Chrome will not make it's way to the HTC Dream, but expect an software update down the road that will include the new browser. According to Sergey Brin, "Probably a subsequent version of Android is going to pick up a lot of the Chrome stack… My guess is we’ll have ‘Chrome-like’ or something similar."
Mockups of the much anticipated gPhone or G1 I should say from T-Mobile surfaced on the web. The design features a pull out QWERTY keyboard and a tilt at the bottom of the handset. The G1 will represent the first Android phone and proudly displays, "with Google" on the back of the device.

T-Mobile today confirmed plans to launch the first ever mobile phone powered by Google's Android software. The HTC Dream will represent the first gPhone and the company expects to launch the device before Christmas. According to the NY Times, the gPhone might hit stores as early as October. If they can get the Android OS ready for primetime, this makes tremendous sense as they hope to capitilize on holiday shoppers.
The new gPhone will features a touch screen and will compete directly with the iPhone. Like the HTC Tilt, the gPhone will also feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
219 Andorid developers who voiced their displeasure with Google over the lack of updates for the Android SDK expressed their displeasure by signing a petition asking for more updates on the progress. Google offered a two-line response which essentially said "Thanks".
Developers were less than pleased with the response that came via email and posted to Google's Official Android Discussion Group. It read simply, "We appreciate the enthusiasm of our developers and we're excited that you're so passionate about the Android platform. Thanks for taking the time to send this."
Reports are in that T-Mobile will be accepting pre-orders on the HTC Dream on September 17th for an October release.
This price might just be for existing T-Mobile customers. The HTC Dream will reportedly ship in three colors: Black, White and Brown. Users must have a Google Gmail account for the phone to work.

Android's Eric Chu said Google is not interested in a partership with the LiMo Foundation, a Linux consortium, for fear of having "too many cooks in the kitchen". Chu also confirmed the Android OS is 80 percent complete on target to deliver handsets by the end of 2008, presumably the
HTC Dream.
Chu said the company is putting the finishing touches on the user experience. In recent news, HTC confirmed they would have a production handset running the Android OS by Q4. Discuss this and more in our Android forums.
