The first OTA (over the air) update RC29 has started to find it's way to the T-Mobile G1. Some users have reported receiving the OTA update this morning. The update process will reboot the G1 a few times.

No reports on what the RC29 update includes outside of bug fixes. The entire update process takes only 5 minutes or so.

I just got the update, it makes the phone a lot brighter, I can see it better in the sunlight.
Also, it seems to be a bit lighter, I carried around in my pocket today and I was barely aware of it.
I love the new feature that allows it to charge from ambient heat, I put it on my stove and it fully charged in about 14 seconds!
*Note: be careful if you do this and use an oven mitt if the phone rings while charging on the stove, you don't want to burn yourself!

or is there a way for me to download this to my phone I just activated my new phone as a new customer the 30th and still running on RC19! does the RC29 update make the G1 run faster and extend the battery life?
